UNDERSTANDING YOUR DIAGNOSIS
Cell type, grade, and whether the findings are pre-cancerous or invasive
Whether disease is early and localized or more advanced significantly affects planning
Pelvic MRI, CT, and PET findings help clarify local extent and node involvement
If a procedure was done, margin status informs what happens next

You need help understanding your staging tests and timeline
You received a diagnosis following Pap, HPV testing, or biopsy and aren't sure what it means
Your biopsy result confused you, and no one has properly explained it
You want a second-opinion style review of your reports
You have a family member overseas who wants to be part of decisions via Zoom
You want whole-person care and integrative support principles included in your plan
What tests are needed to complete my staging workup before any treatment begins?
What does my biopsy actually say? Is it pre-cancerous, early invasive, or more advanced?
Should the next step be more imaging, a specialist referral, or a procedure, and in what order?
How do I evaluate the recommendations I've been given when I'm emotionally overwhelmed?
What questions must I ask before agreeing to any major therapy or intervention?

A short timeline of symptoms and test dates

Teshuva Wellness offers physician-led prostate cancer consultations in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and via Zoom for patients across the Caribbean and diaspora communities in North America and the UK. No referral is required to book.
The Gleason score, now often expressed as a Grade Group (1 to 5), describes how abnormal the cancer cells look compared to normal prostate tissue. A lower Grade Group generally suggests slower-growing disease where monitoring may be appropriate. A higher Grade Group typically indicates more aggressive disease requiring timely treatment. We explain what your specific score means in the context of your full clinical picture.
For certain low-risk cases, typically Grade Group 1 with limited biopsy core involvement and a stable PSA, active surveillance is a recognised, evidence-supported approach that avoids over-treatment. Whether it is appropriate for you depends on your specific pathology, PSA trend, and imaging. This is one of the most common decisions we help patients think through.
Yes. Many of our patients are Jamaicans living in the US, Canada, or the UK who are navigating a diagnosis either for themselves or for a family member back home. Zoom consultations allow full participation and document review remotely. WhatsApp us to arrange a session.
